His most distinctive feature is his relaxed, languid tone. Combined with delicate, logically structured interpretations, his improvisations always tell a story. A swing jazz enthusiast, he has also explored pop and crossover genres, evolving a completely new musical style. In 2018 he traveled to Italy for further study, attending the renowned Siena International Jazz Music Camp in Europe where he learned from contemporary jazz masters such as Ben Wendel and Miguel Zenón.
The Chairs
Since 2018, he has toured with The Chairs – a Golden Melody Award-winning vocal ensemble – performing over 30 shows across Taiwan, China, the United States, and Australia. These venues have ranged from intimate spaces hosting a few hundred people to large music festivals attracting tens of thousands. Through this experience, he learned how to skillfully integrate jazz improvisation into pop music, adding new dimensions to the original compositions.
Recording
He has been invited to arrange improvisational segments for album recordings, creating refined atmospheres across different musical styles and gaining a deeper grasp of how to understand and convey the original composer’s intent.
Official Projects
Collaborated with Hakka music groups to infuse elements of Taiwanese folk music into jazz improvisation.
National Theater & Concert Hall
He was invited to perform for three consecutive years—taking on leading roles as well as collaborating with other musicians (in areas such as composition and in tributes to Art Blakey). He has conducted in-depth analysis and interpretation of early 20th-century jazz arrangements and harmonic structures. In 2015, he founded “Vocal Time-Space Journey,” a project that blends
